The Hercules Public Library was the venue for
the First Annual Philippine Independence Day
Celebration in our town.
The event was presented by the Fil_Ams of Hercules,
the A.F.A.H., the Philippine Cultural and Historical
Association, and the Fil-Ams of Contra Costa in
cooperation with the City of Hercules and the Hercules
Public Library. Several hundred people participated
during an afternoon filled with music, dance, poetry
and food.

Music and entertainment delighted the audience.




An impressive diorama depicted
the history of the
Philippines.

Readings from Dr. Jose Rizal were inspiring.

Children were entertained in the Library Story Cone.

The Celebration was a
tremendous success. A new
tradition in Hercules was started.
